The last of the Australian State Titles was contested at Gillman Speedway in Adelaide on Sunday evening with the staging of the South Australian Championship.

It has been a bit of a travelling circus for our riders in the southern state championships with Max Fricke, Sam Masters and Justin Sedgmen all contesting at least two out of the three NSW, Victoria and South Australia meetings. On this occasion decided against the 20 hour journey from Kurri Kurri after the Jason Crump Cup there on Boxing Night. Max Fricke did make the journey.

Sedgy scored 13 points in his qualifying races and that took him into the final as the third highest qualifier behind Jason Doyle and Dakota North.

Max Fricke finished on 12 points and that took him into the B Final and, just as he had done in heat 2, he lost out to Rohan Tungate and failed to make the Final.

So the final lined up with Sedgy, Doyle, North and Tungate. Jason Doyle, who had only lost once during the evening, to Justin, raced away to win the final ahead of Tungate with Sedgy third.

Max, Sam and Justin will now be preparing for the four leg Australian Championship which starts at Gillman next Saturday.
