Two of our team were in action on Thursday evening as they warmed up for the vital League Cup clash at Armadale on Friday evening.

Craig Cook guested for Sheffield in place of Simon Stead at Owlerton on Thursday evening and they suffered a surprise home defeat to Somerset who won by 47 to 43. Craig easily top scored with 13 from his 5 races and in heat one set the fastest time of the season.

A little bit further away Rob Branford guested for Rye House at Ipswich he had a good start to the meeting but tailed off in his later races and finished with 6 plus a bonus in his seven races. The Ipswich won by 55 to 38 and that result means that a win at Plymouth on Friday evening will see them top that section. Rye House look like finishing second in the southern group but it seems likely that a team in the northern or border section will finish with a better match point average and take the fourth qualifying place.

Justin Sedgmen has been in Denmark this week hoping to secure a place in a Danish team for this season. He arrived back in the country on Thursday morning.

We have been undertaking some work in the stadium this week and we have raised our new grandstand a bit higher, making the view even better than before. On Friday all supporters are invited to try the seating. There will be no additional charge.
