In a winning team the reserves can be as important as the heat leaders and it is even better when those reserves battle for every point. The Border Roofing Monarchs have two such riders in their ranks in 2015.

Rob Branford and Max Clegg have both made an excellent start to their Monarchs careers and have shown clear signs that there is better to come as the season progresses.

What has endeared both riders to the Monarchs fans is their ability to keep battling for every point. Rob picked up a vital point in heat 14 at Newcastle on Sunday by never giving up and who can forget Max's sensational run to the line win over Doolan and Jorgensen at Armadale on 24th April.

Both riders have been doing well in the National League also with Rob almost unbeatable for Rye House and Max doing a real number one job at Cradley.

Their 5-1 in heat two at Newcastle on Sunday proved to be a matchwinner and we're all looking forward to see how they develop over the season.
