On a drizzly night back in April 1997, the 11th to be precise, the Monarchs began racing at their fifth home, Armadale Stadium. The match featured the Monarchs and a reborn Glasgow Tigers. On 26th June we will race our 500th meting at Armadale and we intend to celebrate with a Legends Night.

Previous homes had been Old Meadowbank in Edinburgh, home for 15 years in two spells, Cliftonhill Stadium in Coatbridge, home for two years, the luxurious Powderhall Stadium in central Edinburgh, home for 19 years, and Shawfield Stadium, Glasgow, a home for just one year.

Our greatest successes, including all four of our league championships, have been achieved at Armadale and we will be joined on the night by many of the riders who made it all possible. We will also have special offers on admission prices and giveaways for everyone.

We are going to make it a night to remember and the first offer that we can confirm is that all primary school children will be admitted free on the night to celebrate the start of the school summer holiday.

We'll make many more announcements in due course.
