Craig Cook continued his wonderful recent form by winning the Peugeot International Speedway Championship at Ashfield on Sunday afternoon.

Craig raced untroubled through the qualifying races for a fifteen point maximum and qualification direct to the final. He just missed out on breaking the track record. In the final Glasgow's Richard Lawson made the best start and headed Craig for almost the whole race but in the run to the line Craig had built up terrific momentum and snatched victory on the line.

Border Roofing Monarchs other competitor, Justin Sedgmen, also had a good afternoon. He scored 11 points in the qualifiers to be the highest scorer going to the semi final. However, although he briefly held the second place required to qualify for the final he was, eventually, pushed to the back.

It was an enjoyable event at Ashfield with Josh Grajczonek and Aaron Summers being the other finalists.

Over in Holland Erik Riss had a good day in the second World Long Track Grand Prix at Eernum. He took second place in the Final behind Joonas Kylmakorpi. That result moved Erik in the overall standing from seventh to second although he is nine points behind Kylmakorpi. There are two further rounds to be run in Germany and France in September.
