After a close encounter at Ashfield this afternoon with Tigers winning by just six points Newcastle Diamonds have stormed through to the Knock Out Cup semi final with a big win over Glasgow tonight by 56 to 33 to win on aggregate by 17 points.

So that means that we will meet Newcastle in the Knock Out Cup semi final. We are already discussing dates for the meetings and hope to make an announcement early on Monday. The other semi final is being contested by Rye House and Somerset.

It has been a busy day for our riders. Craig Cook just missed out on a maximum when he was beaten in heat 15 as Belle Vue maintained a very small chance of qualifying for the Elite League play offs. Sam Masters was in the opposing team, Leicester and he had a good day also scoring 7 and a bonus plus he had a fall in heat 15 when well placed.

Max Clegg was a little more adventurous. He was over in Belgium riding in the Golden Helmet at Heusden-Zolder and after scoring 10 in the qualifying heats finished fourth in the final.

Max had been at Rye House on Saturday riding in a very wet meeting there. He scored 7 for Cradley when the match was abandoned after heat 11. Rob Branford was riding for Rye House and scored a maximum 9 points for them.

The big event on Saturday was the European Under 21 Championship at Silkeborg in Denmark. Erik Riss was racing there and did very well to finish in 5th place with 8 points.
