Friday night's League Cup Final at Armadale is building up to be the biggest ever event staged at the track with a crowd to match.

It's twenty one years since the two Scottish teams have raced for a national trophy and after such a long time it seems that supporters of both teams are ready to renew the rivalry.

Advance ticket sales for Friday's match are already 27% higher than any previous advance ticket sale ever and we've still got five days to go before the meeting. The pre-matchday ticket sales continue at discounted prices until 11.59pm on Thursday so there is still ample time to get hold of cut price tickets. This will also be advantageous to gain entry to the stadium with no cash required to slow down the queue.

Before we get to Friday our riders have been busy.

Craig Cook is hoping to help Belle Vue defend their fourteen point lead at Swindon on Monday night in the Elite League Play Off semi final and some of his Monarchs team mates have been busy over the weekend also.

Erik Riss just missed out on successfully defending his World Long Track title on Saturday in France. Two last places in two of his three last rides allowed the crown to slip to Dutchman Jannick de Jong. He took second place.

Rob Branford scored a maximum at Rye House on Saturday and then had one of his rare National League off nights at Eastbourne on Sunday.

At the Golden Helmet in Pardubice on Sunday Kevin Wolbert scored nine in his qualifiers and that ended his day. Sam Masters managed eleven to go through to the quarter finals but that was as far as he got.
