We had probably our biggest practise-day turnout on Friday to see the 2016 Border Roofing Monarchs go through their paces for the first time this season.
Following the race-jacket presentation, the team came out on to the circuit in pairs. Of course everyone always looks good on practise day, but there was no hiding how quick and confident Erik Riss in particular looked. Erik has shed 13 kilos over the winter.
We also had a number of riders present trying to win the nomination for the no. 7 position in the team, restricted to 3-point average riders who would qualify for the National League. Our own Mitchell Davey was amongst those riding but as he hasn't received his UK passport yet, he doesn't qualify.
An announcement will be made on our chosen number 7 shortly.
