Old Rivals Are Guests on Friday

The special guests at Ryan Fisher’s Flyin Tonight Testimonial on Friday will be from the two countries he is most closely associated with – Bert Harkins from Scotland and Gene Woods from the USA.

The two were racing rivals across the pond in the late 70s, but will be uniting to support Ryan on Friday. Gene Wods is Daelyn’s dad, ie Ryan’s father in law, and he has been involved in many types of motor sport as well as being a motorcycle speedway champion. (You have to watch with the word ‘Speedway’ in the States).

Gene did ride briefly in the UK in 1981 for Birmingham and Wimbledon.

Bert of course was a Monarch of the sixties, and later with Wembley, Wimbledon, Sheffield, back to Monarchs 1977-79 and finally a season at Milton Keynes.

Meanwhile Ryan is working tonight, guesting for Newcastle in their Bank Holiday fixture
