It has been confirmed that Ryan Fisher has a broken metatarsal bone in his left foot which will rule him out of matches for the immediate future, a big blow for the Border Roofing Monarchs. The injury was sustained in heat 14 at Somerset.

Ryan said “I wasn’t having a great night anyway, I couldn’t work out why my bike was so slow. I thought it might be an ignition problem so I changed that, but my setup still wasn’t right. I managed to get in front on my last ride but I wasn’t quick and was just defending my position when I was involved in the crash.

“I’ve had a broken foot before and managed to be back riding the following week. I haven’t broken this bone before. I’ll see what it’s like when I get home and can start putting some weight on it.”

Certainly for tonight’s match at Sheffield and the visit of Somerset tomorrow, rider replacement will apply with everyone other than Sam Masters eligible for an extra ride.
