Max Clegg continued his recent upturn in form turning in a solid performance to record 6 points in the British under 21 final at Poole this evening.

Max's night started in the worst fashion as he missed the gate in heat 1 and came off while trying to chase down Danny Phillips.

His second ride was a solid second place behind Josh Bates and ahead of former Wolves and Cradley team mate Nathan Greaves and reserve Danno Verge who was replacing Danyon Hume who was forced to pull out with an arm injury after a heat 2 pile up.

Max then backed this up with a further second place in his third ride this time behind Robert Lambert although his next ride was to bring another zero as he retired.

Our youngster's night finished with another second place behind Zach Wajtknecht to leave Max with an encouraging score that unfortunately was not enough for a semi final place.

The meeting was won by pre-meeting favourite Robert Lambert affirming his place as the UK's top prospect. The Kings Lynn and Newcastle man racing to a faultless 15 point maximum in the qualifying heats before romping to victory in the final over Adam Ellis, Josh Bates and Greaves.
