Season Launch Success

Another enjoyable evening was had at the Cairn Hotel this evening as we began our 70th anniversary season with our now annual Season Launch Show.

It was good to meet all of our 2018 Monarchs with Joel and Max sounding confident ahead of their debut seasons in British speedway and the rest of the guys raring to go.

There were a few nuggets of news to come out of the evening these being:

- The Dale Devils are back! We have entered a team under the Dale Devils in the Northern Junior league with more details to follow.

- Riding order confirmed, to start the season we will line-up as follows

1- Ricky Wells

2- Max Ruml

3- Mark Riss

4- Joel Andersson

5- Erik Riss

6- Matt Williamson

7- Josh Pickering

Perhaps the biggest cheer of the night though was reserved for the news that Erik Riss will take over the captain’s mantle this year. Erik as always was pretty laid back about this but did say “I’m looking forward to it, it will be a little bit different as it’s not just about looking after myself now I will be more involved with the other guys and the stuff a captain needs to do but this doesn’t worry me and I can’t wait to get started.

So now it’s onto our press and practice session at Armadale tomorrow afternoon, the hope is that bikes will take to the shale not too long after 2pm with the session open to the public should they wish to attend.
