Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Monarchs! Happy birthday to you!

Yup it's the 70th anniversary golden jubilee fours at Armadale this week and what a meeting it promises to be.

Staggs Bar Monarchs of past and present will be in attendance both on and off the track in what is sure to be a fantastic evening of nostalgia.

Many fans long for the fours qualifiers to return and unfortunately while that does not appear to be on the cards anytime soon we will get a taste of fours action at Armadale this week with 4 different 'Monarchs' teams taking to the track.

The teams all appear to have an even mix with Championship heat leaders mixed in with some intriguing names.

The John Somerville Collection Monarchs line-up with 2 current Monarchs in Mark and Josh alongside our fantastic guest from Ipswich Mason Campton and team captain Sam Masters

Cat's Monarch's are led by Craig Cook with 7 time British Champ and probably the best visitor to Armadale Scott Nicholls backing up the GP man. Completing the line-up is Coty Garcia and the prospect of William Lawson mixing it with the big boys once again will be one to watch.

The Ewen Family Monarchs are another that will be watched closely. Rory Schlein fresh off his Scottish Open victory earlier in the season leads the team and main back up will come from Glasgow's Richie Worrall. Max Ruml represents this years Monarchs in the side and another point of interest will come from Norwegian Lasse Fredriksen making his Armadale debut.

The final team rides under the Staggs Bar Monarchs banner with Monarchs number 1 Ricky Wells captaining. Joel Andersson completes a brace of Monarchs with Matty Wethers and Paul Starke completing the field.

So a fascinating night of racing looks in store with no team riding required as all 4 riders in each race look to score the points for their team to take glory, there will also be a top scorers race to finalise proceeding s with the top man form each team racing off for the individual trophy.

On a night like this there may be as much interest in what s happening off the track as there is on it with a who's who of Edinburgh Speedway history expected in hospitality these include the likes of Les and Neil Collins, Sean Courtney, Scott Lamb, Blair Scott, Bert Harkins, Kenny Mckinna, Max Fricke and perhaps the highlight will be seeing Mitchell Davey who is still recovering from his horrendous crash at Birmingham but should be in attendance.

So a cracking night of action lies ahead as the Monarchs celebrate their rich history. AS always there is only one place to see all the thrills and spills and that is at Armadale.

See you there!
