After the Somerset/Cardiff break enjoyed by many of our fans, the Staggs Bar Monarchs return to the track in league action against the Redcar Bears. Richie Worrall makes his full Monarchs' debut and Max Clegg also returns.

Monarchs will start strong favourites against the team at the foot of the table, though the Bears picked up a good point at Ipswich last week and tend to do better away than at their own home circuit which is enjoyed by many visitors. Redcar boss Kevin Keay has won many admirers for the way he has operated his club since taking over.

Team manager Alex Harkess said "This Friday we need to win well and it is almost a perfect fixture for the new lineup getting together, working out partnerships and relationships and the things that come together to make a team. We're looking forward to more regular fixtures now and let's start off with a good home win."

Regarding the team changes Aussie Josh Pickering added ""Having Ricky, Richie, Erik, myself, Joel and Victor that's a very strong six in my opinion. If I can get 7 or 8 at least, Ricky Erik and Richie get their normal 11 or 12, and Joel and Victor get at least 5, we'll get 50-odd points a meeting. I really like Richie and Cleggy so there's nothing in the team that is going to make me unhappy. I wish Mark and Max all the best, it's a shame how it turned out for them. I think we now have our best chance to win the league."

Friday will also be the Monarchs' NINETIES CELEBRATION NIGHT, part of the 70th Anniversary Season, and we will be delighted to welcome Kenny McKinna, Peter Carr, Kevin Little and James Grieves as our guests for the evening.

THIS WEEK'S MEETING:

Friday 27th July: Staggs Bar Monarchs v Redcar (Championship), 7:30pm

STAGGS BAR MONARCHS: Ricky Wells, Victor Palovaara, Josh Pickering, Richie Worrall, Erik Riss (captain), Max Clegg, Joel Andersson.

ECCO BEARS: Ben Barker (captain), Tobias Busch, Dimitri Bergé, Jonas B Andersen, Thomas Jorgensen, Mikkel B Andersen, Jordan Stewart.

After the Championship match there will be a Northern Junior League match between the Dale Devils and the Redcar Cubs.
