An enjoyable evening was had by one and all in Tynecastle Park's Gorgie Suite tonight as Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson regaled a 200 strong crowd with stories of their travels on the speedway scene alongside interviewing some Monarchs related guests.

There had been a scare during the day when Kelvin's flight was cancelled while on the tarmac but as it was all was present and correct when the show kicked off. The main men seemed to enjoy the occasion also with Nigel saying after "I really enjoyed it tonight and I think the audience enjoyed it as well. It was really nice to come up here, a new venue for us in the 5 years we have been doing this and with the pre season now underway it's good to give the fans what they want to hear. Tell a few stories and yeah I really enjoyed that."

Kelvin who is entering his 20th year in speedway broadcasting also had a good night despite his flight delays adding "I very much enjoyed tonight, it was a tricky start to the day but fortunately it all worked out. It was a really good evening with an enthusiastic crowd. You could sense as you walked into the room it was an enthusiastic crowd and I've really enjoyed that tonight."

The BT sports stars were joined on stage in the first half by Scottish speedway legend Kenny McKinna who shared a few stories of his time racing against Kelvin before the Monarchs promotional team hit the stage to give their thoughts on the season ahead.

The second half involved the pair telling some of the more memorable stories of their time travelling around Europe commentating on the sport although there was still time for Kelvin to revisit his one and only visit to Armadale where his night ended on the deck. This like the rest of the evening was all taken in good spirit though with everyone who wanted leaving with a picture or autograph from our guests.

That sets us up nicely for the next big event the 2019 Season Launch Event at Napier's Craiglockart Campus on the 5th April with tickets available now.
