The Spring Spectacular will certainly be that as Staggs Bar Monarchs will face Premiership side Wolverhampton on the opening night of the 2019 season.
Monarchs will face the Wolves on Friday 12th April from 7:30pm racing for the Red Box Property Trophy. The Wolves are certainly amongst the leading sides in the top division this season and have a tremendous array of star names.
The night will be organised as a charity fundraiser for Cancer Research, with a collection being held on the evening.
Wolverhampton promoter Chris Van Straaten finalised the details with Monarchs' Chairman Alex Harkess at the Ben Fund Bonanza event (both are SRBF Trustees), and he said "We are delighted to be coming to Edinburgh again. The Monarchs and the Wolves have had a close relationship over a very long period."
Wolves won't bring every one of their stars but a glance at their septet for the new season shows why they are fancied for honours. We will be announcing their team in due course, but it is sure to be a considerable test for the new Monarchs' squad.
