Our cheerful Swede of the 2018 season Victor Palovaara will be returning to the Staggs Bar Monarchs in time for our next match to assist us through our current injury crisis.

At the moment he is back as an injury replacement for Justin Sedgmen. Victor of course formed a strong opening partnership with Ricky Wells last season and finished with an average over 6.

He said "It's going to be fun, I feel fine. I've been doing good in meetings so far so it will help me to ride some more meetings. I feel I am going to have a good season."

Victor had originally been included in Newcastle's side for this season but missed out after some reshuffling. He commented "Maybe when something bad happens it brings something good with it.

"I have the bikes built so I just have to build a box to send them over. They were all packaged up at the start of the season then I dismantled them. Now I put them together again."

Victor rides in two Swedish Elite League matches next week for his club Vetlanda and has yet to decide whether he can be across in time for the Scottish Open on Friday.

We have also had an update on Josh Pickering who has been told that he has broken a shoulder blade. This is actually a relief to Josh who had been alerted to the possibility of a more serious injury. The shoulder might take three months to heal fully but he believes he will be able to ride well before that and is talking about the end of June.
