It's now coming up for four weeks since our missing riders first were injured and the prognosis is still not great for them all.

Luke Ruddick was due to make his comeback more than a week ago at Leicester but the match was called off. He then was due to ride in a National League match for Leicester at Plymouth on Friday only to make it all the way down to Devon to find the track wasn't fit to ride. So it was all the way back up to Berwick for our match there only for the inevitable outcome but being due to ride at Cradley on Monday evening he took the opportunity to practice at Leicester on Sunday evening and immediately knew that his head was still not right after suffering concussion.

Luke plans further recuperation before having another try out but will miss the matches this weekend. Connor Coles will step into his place on Friday.

Justin Sedgmen had the plaster cast removed from his left hand last week but instead of being days away from a racing return he discovered that his ring finger had not been healing. There was also a concern about a possible injury to his scaphoid. Justin was seeking further advice but it could be that an operation is now required which will make it many weeks before he can consider getting back on a bike.

Josh Pickering gives slightly better news. After seeking various opinions and having received various diagnoses it seems that it is a trapped nerve that is his greatest problem currently. The broken shoulder blade will heal naturally and is not preventing him riding. The trapped nerve has taken all the strength from his arm but it was showing signs of recovery at the end of last week then he will return to racing on Friday. At Monday lunchtime he rated the chances 60/40
