Introducing Matt Marson

Although he has ridden at Armadale, new Staggs Bar Monarch Matt Marson will not be well known to the Monarchs' support.

He was born on 15th March 2000 in Perth, Western Australia, to an English dad (which makes his path into UK Speedway easier). He first rode bikes about age 11, and went along to his local Pinjar Park where Cameron Heeps also rode.

He says "At first I went to ride motocross but I was given the chance of riding a speedway bike so I thought, why not? I was second in their 250cc Championship and rode in the 2015 250cc World Championship".

Matt made some guest appearances for Mildenhall in 2017, signed for them in 2018 and is still competing for the Fen Tigers.

He adds "I had my best meeting so far with them last Sunday, 9+11 which was at no. 2, not an easy position. I like Mildenhall, it rides quite big.

"I enjoyed Armadale as well when I came up earlier. It was a nice track but it took a couple of rides to get used to it.

"I will be doing some travelling with Cam, we can share the driving to make it easier. The only other member of the team I know so far is Colesy."
