If you stay in Scotland it's more than 400 miles to the Oak Tree Arena in Somerset and that's the journey William Lawson made, and his teammates slightly or greatly less, for the rain off on Wednesday evening.

After early morning rain at Somerset it cleared to be a dry day until a shower fell at 4pm. After that cleared over there was then a period of dry weather and it looked like the meeting would be on.

A track inspection took place just before six o'clock and it was agreed by all parties that a final decision would be taken within thirty minutes. However even before they had left the track another shower was falling followed quickly by another, very heavy, downpour and that was that.

The meeting was swiftly rearranged for 28th August.
