The Club has made a statement of intent during Friday's final Championship match of the season, by signing two of the most popular team members for the 2020 season. Sam Masters and Josh Pickering will be back in the blue and gold next season.

In Sam's case of course he squeezed back in at the end of July having realised he should not have left in the first place!

The Aussie has had a strong season in the Premiership with Wolves and in Poland, and since his return to the Monarchs he has averaged close to 11 in the ten matches he has raced prior to tonight.

He said "I can only say the same thing I said in July when I came back this season – it's great to be back! I've done as much as I can since then I think but as a team we need to sort our away form next season, then we'll be right."

Josh Pickering has been over in Poland this week but his signing ends speculation that he might have moved away for next season. There are certainly many clubs who would like to have him. But 2020 will be his fourth year in Monarchs' colours.

He has put almost a point on his average this season but can surely push higher yet. Of course he is also a noted entertainer and when we have the annual Race of the Season vote, Josh will again figure prominently.

Obviously these moves also end any thoughts that we might not come to the tapes for 2020. We could certainly do with more regulars coming through the turnstiles but we always intended to carry on, and with substantial support from many people including the Monarchs' Fans Trust, the Monarchs' Grand Draw and team sponsors Staggs Bar, we are able to do so.

The first tickets to go on sale for next season will be Gold+ Memberships, details of which have been emailed to all current Gold Members.
