Much fun was had by all as Monarchs 100 Fundraising group hosted a successful and popular auction on Saturday afternoon.

The auction was the brainchild of Monarchs 100 Co-ordinator Derek Wilkinson who linked up with Monarchs 100 Spokesperson Scott Wilson to conduct the event.

A large turnout took part in speedway's first ever live online auction. Hosted on Zoom, this presented many moments of unintentional humour.

Scott took to the stand to flawlessly work through the extensive list of items, raising a magnificent amount for the club. Scott said, "It was great fun and a real team effort. Well done and thank you to everyone involved, all who donated items and all who joined us and bid to raise over £3,500.

"It was an important event and a great opportunity for fans from across the speedway world to come together. The funds raised will help the club to negotiate the Covid-19 challenge so it is a great effort all round.

"I had a ball and I hope everyone else did too."

Monarchs Co-promoter, John Campbell added, "I offer my grateful thanks to Scott Wilson, Derek Wilkinson and all of the backroom team for putting together such a fantastic event.

"It was a good bit of fun with many laughs along the way. Scott put in a tremendous effort, managing to auction off every single one of the 112 lots on offer.

"The generosity of those who donated items and the very many who joined the auction was incredible. The love that we all have for the Monarchs always shines through in these events and the amount raised was staggering. Thank you to everyone involved."

Congratulations to all who successfully bid in the auction. If you were a winner then please email auction@scott-wilson.net to make arrangements to receive your item.

Scott will reflect on this very enjoyable afternoon when he joins John and Liam for this week's Sunday Lunch With... question and answer session. You can watch here on the website tomorrow (Sunday 7th) at midday or head over to the Monarchs Facebook page to watch and ask your questions live.
