Match not run, rescheduled for Tuesday

Having dodged the worst of the weather and with the Armadale track in good racing condition, our Playoff quarter final was eventually abandoned following a first bend crash in heat 1 in which James Sarjeant appears to have suffered a dislocated knee.

Charles Wright had made the start with Sam Masters close behind, while James straightened up slightly in mid bend and clipped Sam's back wheel. He shot across the second bend and into the fence at what seemed a pretty high speed.

There followed a lengthy examination and eventually a call for an NHS ambulance, however John Campbell eventually had to announce "Tonight's match has had to be abandoned as we have had to send our private ambulance with James to Hospital. It will not return in time to complete the match which we now intend to restage on Tuesday at 7:30."

Other solutions were investigated but did not prove possible. It seems both teams are available to race with Redcar now in a position to use a guest assuming that neither Sarjeant nor Palm Toft will be available. We send the injured riders our best wishes, and our apologies to supporters for the unfortunate sequence of events.

Supporters returning for Tuesday's event should remember to bring their programmes from tonight.
