Team building rules set for 2022 Championship

British Speedway has announced changes to team building for the 2022 season.

Championship teams will now be able to build to a 42 point total for all seven riders in the line-up. The rising star system will not carry forward to next season.

Confirmation of the team building rules also comes with news of the Oxford Cheetahs return to speedway for the 2022 season with their Cowley Stadium set to reopen early next year. The Cheetahs will compete in the Championship.

Birmingham and Kent await news on takeover bids that will determine if they will return to tapes for the new season.

Monarchs team building work is well underway and the Promotion hope to announce further details soon.

Home Highlights Show

With venues still proving challenging to book due to remaining COVID measures, the Home Highlights Show will not take place in its traditional late November/early December slot. The show will instead take place early in 2022.
