Our sympathies are with the Brady family and friends today on hearing the sad news that Alistair has passed away at the age of 73. We've known him since his own speedway career started in the late sixties with the Coatbridge Monarchs, and more recently as the regular mechanic for Matthew Wethers, who of course became a member of the Brady family.

Alistair actually top scored for Monarchs in the last match we raced at Coatbridge in 1969, scoring 9 against Cradley. He rode 16 times for the Monarchs then subsequently enjoyed a lot of success with Berwick in Division Two in the seventies.

Son Ross of course was a very prominent rider with Monarchs, Tigers and Hull Vikings and Alistair was invariably there with him, as was Alistair's wife Norma.

He will be greatly missed.
