A new team will join the Monarchs' fold this season as the Armadale Angels line up in the Northern Junior League.

Following the successful introduction of the Monarchs Speedway Academy in 2021, there has been a boom of local youngsters taking up speedway racing.

An important step on the pathway to speedway stardom is moving from individual practice into competitive racing. The West Lothian Wildcats offer the first opportunity for this in the Northern Junior League and will continue in 2022.

However, with the depth of young riders emerging it was felt that further opportunities should be created as the nature of Northern Junior League racing only offers two places per team for 125cc riders.

As such, Monarchs have entered a second team into the Northern Junior League this season which will see the Armadale Angels join the West Lothian Wildcats at this level.

The 2022 Northern Junior League will be contested by Berwick Academy, Newcastle Sapphires, Redcar Cubs and Teesside Tigers joined by West Lothian Wildcats and Armadale Angels.

Monarchs Speedway Academy

Monarchs Speedway Academy was launched in 2021 aiming to introduce youngsters from the age of 5 and up into the sport of speedway.

A mini-track was established at Armadale Stadium to offer an appropriately sized circuit for young riders to try out speedway on 50cc and 125cc bikes.

The Academy is welcoming newcomers for the new season. Visit the Monarchs Speedway Academy section of the website for more information!
