Brummies Threat Can't Be Discounted

  Edinburgh Monarchs

After an encouraging weekend last week where the What the Fork Monarchs picked up 4 points from home and away battles against the Redcar Bears all attention now shifts to the Birmingham Brummies as they head to Armadale in Championship action on Friday evening.

The Brummies have not had their troubles to seek so far this season and will be smarting after a heavy home defeat to Poole on Wednesday, but they also come on the back of their first away win of the season at Oxford and their threat cannot be discounted.

Both teams see changes to the usual line-up with James Sarjeant set for a spell on the side-lines, a multitude of Championship and National League matches this evening meant some of the usual options were not available and we are grateful to Greg Blair who steps into guest.

Elsewhere for the Monarchs Lasse Fredriksen is back in the fold after missing last Friday due to a European Championship qualifier and he will slot back into a main body of the team that all performed admirably in that victory last week.

For the visitors there are a couple of absentees in Claus Vissing and Josh Auty with rider replacement in operation for the former and Tom Brennan slotting in for the latter, r/r for Vissing allowing all the Birmingham team an extra ride.

A lot of eyes will be on recent addition to the Brummies septet Justin Sedgman, no list of Sedgy's achievements in the Blue and Gold in the past is required and he has really set tongues wagging with his performances since getting back into the UK fold.

Ashley Morris is another former Monarch with a strong Armadale pedigree and with James Shanes returning after a layoff to add power at reserve no complacency can kick in for the home men.

Tapes up at 7.30pm with tickets still available on the Monarchs website or pay at the gate available also. For those that can't be in attendance then as all matches are the meeting will be live streamed.

Another 3 points is crucial for the home men as they look to climb the league table and as we always like to say….

Friday night is speedway night, see you there!
