After a well-earned point at Plymouth last night the What the Fork Monarchs head from Devon to Dorset on Wednesday evening to take on reigning league champs the Poole Pirates.

The Pirates were head and shoulders above the rest last year adding the KO cup to that league title and early indications are 2022 is set to be another banner year for the Wimborne Road outfit.

The Pirates have made a strong start to league campaign unbeaten and untroubled at home so far and with away victories at Birmingham, Redcar and Oxford not to mention an away draw at Glasgow.

So, the task for the Monarch's is clear with the potent spearhead of Danny King, Steve Worrall and Richard Lawson all more than capable of going unbeaten on any given night.

Back up comes from Aussie brothers Ben and Zach Cook both making great strides in their second season in the UK

Monarch of last year Drew Kemp is the senior reserve but partner Nathan Ablitt is a hot prospect also and can never be discounted.

The Monarchs can take heart though from the fact they did take a league point from this venue last year and as we all know Sam and Josh are a match for anyone anywhere.

Kye Thomson had another good meeting at Plymouth and will have the benefit of a couple of meetings around the Wimborne circuit.

Paco will be looking to add away points to his improved recent home form and with Lasse Fredriksen still missing and r/r in operation the new averages mean Paco will be on for an extra ride to cover this so his contribution is key.

At the bottom end Jason Edwards steps into guest for James while Jacob Hook will no doubt be looking to carry on his points scoring exploits from the latter half of the Plymouth encounter.

A big match in store then with a live stream available from https://livestream.poole-speedway.com and live updates available on the Monarchs website takes up at 7.30pm.
