Monarchs bosses have vowed to fight on to bring the team back to the tapes following the recent devastating news that West Lothian Community Stadium would not be built in time for 2023.

Since the news broke last month, Monarchs have been continuing to explore every possible avenue to keep the team on track for the 2023 season. Monarchs Co-Promoter John Campbell explained, "The project to secure the long-term future of the Monarchs has been ongoing for some time now. Armadale Stadium has been a wonderful home for the Club but has never offered the long-term security we need.

"West Lothian Community Stadium was a fantastic proposal, and it was devastating that things did not go our way with it. However, we still have the plan and our determination to deliver it is unlimited."

It was announced earlier this year that Armadale Stadium would no longer be available beyond the 2022 season, Campbell continued, "When we were informed about the impending closure of Armadale Stadium, we accelerated our work to secure an alternative. With West Lothian Community Stadium falling through it is clear that time is not on our side to secure a venue for the 2023 season.

"The only real option for 2023 is Armadale Stadium. While it is still standing, we are continuing discussions to identify if there is scope to extend our tenancy by a year. Time is running out but we will continue to explore every possibility in these discussions.

"We have to be realistic that unfortunately the current situation is that Armadale Stadium will close after our Farewell to Armadale event on Saturday 15th October but we will not stop until the long-term future of the Monarchs is secured."

The final match at Armadale Stadium is scheduled for Saturday 15th October, 6:30pm and will be a special Farewell to Armadale staging of the 2022 Scottish Open Championship. Tickets are on sale now.
