Great night for Monarchs 100

The fifth Monarchs 100 Burns Supper held at Bailfield Bowling Club last night was a tremendous success, the best-attended one we've had, with a fantastic total of over £3,500 raised for club funds.

On top of that Mitchell Davey brought his bucket along for a collection for the Speedway Riders' Benevolent Fund, also generously contributed to.

The special guests were Bert Harkins (who paraded the haggis), Brian Collins and Kenny McKinna and their Q&A with Scott Wilson was an excellent session. We were reminded that all three had very eventful careers of about 20 years each, and each gave us some insight into their great days on the track. Oh for someone like them now!

The three-course meal was outstanding and thanks are due to all the workers and organisers for a great event.
