Brady Kurtz was the slightly surprising winner of the Mildura round of the Australian Championships today. He had some good fortune in the final which was initially led by Rohan Tungate, but stopped when Jack Holder fell. Max Fricke was second with Tungate third, and Max has a crucial lead going in to the last round.

Top Edinburgh rep was Justin Sedgmen the wild card on his home track. He rode steadily and won one heat, finishing on 9 which might have been 10 but for a bike problem in his last heat. Sedgy made the semi but retired at the back behind powerhouse trio Tungate, Jack Holder and Lidsey.

Josh Pickering gated poorly and left himself certainly needing a win in heat 19, a rerun race after Ryan Douglas fell. Josh made a huge effort to catch Rohan Tungate and the pair almost came to grief on lap three. They were not happy with each other. Josh finished on 6.

Once again gate positions played a large part in the outcomes and there were not many changes of position after the early skirmishes. It was another long long meeting in true Aussie sunshine style, including a sun break early on. However it is always interesting when the Aussie big guns clash, and there are plenty in this field.
