Polish rider Oskar Polis has left the Stellar Monarchs after failing to complete last night's match against Poole, and Monarchs have been granted a 28 day facility to replace him (guest or rider replacement) whilst seeking a full time replacement.

Fans at the match saw Oskar have a rather wild opening ride which he won after bouncing off the fence on the opening lap. In his second heat (heat 7) he was lying second to partner Victor Palovaara on an early lap when he pulled out of the race, having at some point injured his wrist.

Monarchs' promoter John Campbell said "Oskar has told us he is walking out on us. He has chosen to ride today in Germany rather than come with the team to Plymouth.

"He didn't give himself a chance. He was clearly capable of doing well in the UK but he had it in his head that he couldn't. He's probably the first rider I've come across that's pulled out of a meeting because he didn't fancy it. Leading a race then giving up!"

28 year old Polis had made a good start for Monarchs scoring 9 points in each of the home and away legs of the Scottish Cup against Glasgow, followed by an outstanding dozen at Berwick in the BSN Series. However all along he has expressed doubt about his capability to ride Armadale, and also his availability for various fixtures had been a subject of discussion.

Monarchs will use rider replacement in tonight's match at Plymouth.
