Edinburgh Monarchs Academy
There was double joy today for the Hague family and the Monarchs Academy as both Lewis and Callum Hague won their classes in the British Youth Championship at Leicester. All our riders scored points on a successful day.
Lewis Hague, unbeaten in this season's Northern Junior League other than an engine failure, actually had another stoppage at Leicester but took wins in his other three qualifying races plus the final to win the 125cc class.
Young Callum had a fair old battle with Douglas Marshall who was the top qualifier in the Support section, but in the final Callum was triumphant.
The points by our riders in the qualifying heats were:
500cc: Lee Harrison 5 points including a win, Rocco Webb 4 points. This was a tough section with 4 of the 8 competitors being current National League riders. Winner was Ryan Ingram.
250cc: Liam Morris 6 points. Winner of this always competitive section was Casper Kluczniak.
125cc: Lewis Hague 9 points and a win in the final.
Support class: Callum Hague 9 points and a win in the final.
The next stage is at Belle Vue tomorrow where it appears there is only a 125cc section competition.
