Edinburgh Monarchs
The Monarchs 2026 kicked into gear on Friday with a great day from start to finish.
Early doors it was a photo session at Armadale with all 13 riders (Jordy is of course pulling double duty) who will don the Blue and Gold across the Championship and NDL this year in attendance and kitted out ready to go.
Next up was a practice session with captain Paco Castagna first out describing the track as 'beautiful' as he had his first Armadale laps since last season.
The rest of the Championship team would follow with new boys Dan Thompson and Mitch Cluff perhaps most grateful of the track time.
It was then onto Scott Wilson's side with perhaps most eyes on UK newcomers Ben Whalley and Anika Loftus both getting noticeably more comfortable with each passing spin.
In the evening it was time for the sold out season launch show at Edinburgh Napier University's Craiglockart Camous with over 200 Monarchs faithful in attendance eager to hear the riders thoughts on the year ahead.
Everyone in attendance could not have helped but be impressed with the enthusiasm and passion that came across from all of the Monarchs interviewed and generous rounds of applause for all showed this.
The time for talking now over as Dan, Justin and Kye head for Ashfield and the BEN Fund Bonanza on Saturday before the team action starts with the visit of Berwick to Armadale next Friday!
