Edinburgh Monarchs Academy's perfect start to the season continued on Sunday afternoon as they ran out 57-33 victors at Buxton.

Team boss Scott Wilson delighted with his teams efforts in a contest they led from start to finish, Wilson saying after "I'm extremely pleased with the performance today.

'The whole team contributed to the win again which is the most pleasing aspect.

'The scoreline suggests it was a comfortable afternoon but it certainly wasn't. The team all had to really battle for their points, Buxton made us work hard.

'There were one or two track imperfections but none of the riders let that bother them, they got on with the job and achieved what we set out to. Onto Friday now!"

As mentioned the Academy were dominant from the off with heat advantages in each of the first three races giving a lead that would never be surrendered.

Jordy Loftus, Ben Whalley and Vinnie Foord taking the heat wins all three enjoying fine afternoons as they combined for 38 points between them Foord in his return to the side from injury with a 12 point maximum.

Consecutive heat advantages would come in heats seven through eleven also and by this point the win was all but secured.

Dayle Wood who had started slowly would win his last two rides including a heat 13 5-1 with Loftus and with points scoring rides from guest Ryan Ingram in each of his outings there was no weakness to be found.

Buxton battled manfully with heat wins for Alfie Bowtell, Luke Harris and Jack Smith but such was the dominance of the Academy that each were restricted to one win each as the visitors provided 12 heat winners.

This leaves the Academy sitting proudly atop the National Development League on seven out of seven points, there next chance to add to this next Friday when the same opponents head to Armadale.

The only note of concern on the day was a first bend off for Foord in heat 15 with Whalley coming into replace the young Englishman, this more of a precaution though.

Monarchs Academy 57: J Loftus 13+1, Halder 3+1, Ingram 5+1, Foord 12, Wood 9, Whalley 13+2, A Loftus 2
