Three League points up for grabs

The Monarchs return to action at Armadale for the first time for four weeks with a very important Championship match against Redcar Bears. Two league points are at stake as always, plus the aggregate point over the home and away matches with Redcar holding a 49-41 advantage from their home match.

Monarchs should be at full strength while the Bears are missing Ace Pijper, bringing in stand-in replacement Vinnie Foord at number 6. Monarchs are sitting third in the league with Redcar fifth though comparisons are difficult with teams having raced different numbers of matches. Everyone is chasing a top four Playoff place.

It seemed luck was out earlier in the season for Redcar with two early home losses in the Championship, but they have bounced back in style with a huge recent win at Plymouth. They are also currently contesting the BSN Series semi-final against Berwick and hold the upper hand. They have high-scoring number one Nicolai Klindt leading the way plus a solid side with young reserve Jody Scott currently piling up the points in all three UK leagues.

Team Manager Alex Harkess believes all three points are within his side's reach. "It will be very important that our reserves can get something this Friday when Redcar are the visitors. Redcar have been a bit inconsistent and I believe our numbers 1 to 5 are more than capable of winning the match. We've just got to stop their reserves from keeping them in it! Hopefully our reserves will get a few points and that will make the difference.

"Winning by more than 8 to get the bonus point is the target and if we don't I'll be very disappointed."

Friday's match will be Live-Streamed on the British Speedway Network.
