Edinburgh Monarchs will bring the curtain down on the 2026 season with the Scottish Cup on the line when Glasgow Tigers visit Armadale Stadium next Friday, 2nd October, at 7:30pm.

The long-awaited second leg of the Scottish Cup will provide the final action of the season at Armadale, with the Monarchs taking a six-point advantage into the deciding fixture following the team's 48-42 victory at Ashfield in July.

That result put the Blue and Gold in a strong position, but with only six points separating the sides there is still plenty of work to be done before the trophy can be claimed. It promises to be a fitting way to finish the season - a local derby, a Cup decider and one final chance to see the Monarchs in action in 2026.

Glasgow are the current holders of the Scottish Cup, having edged out the Monarchs by just two points on aggregate last season. The Tigers won the opening leg at Armadale 47-43 before Edinburgh hit back to win 46-44 at Ashfield, leaving Glasgow 91-89 winners overall.

The Monarchs produced an excellent performance in the opening leg at Ashfield in July, leading from the opening race and eventually securing a 48-42 victory, with Kye Thomson completing the job by winning the decisive heat 15.

That six-point advantage now comes back to Armadale, where the destination of the Scottish Cup will be decided. After a thrilling year, the final 15 heats of the season will be massive.

WSRA National Development League trophy to be presented

Monarchs Academy will be formally presented with the WSRA National Development League trophy at the end of the match on Friday 2nd October.

Results elsewhere saw the team clinch the league title last week, but next Friday will see them lift the trophy in front of the Monarchs support at Armadale Stadium.
