Who will win the Scottish Cup?

Friday night will see the end of the Armadale speedway season for 2026 when the Monarchs and the Glasgow Tigers contest the Scottish Cup. This is the second leg because Monarchs won the first leg back on 11th July at Ashfield by 48-42.

That might make Monarchs favourites to lift the Trophy which Glasgow currently hold, might it might not be so easy! Tigers bring in the in-form Berwick rider Nick Morris to replace Kyle Howarth who stood down earlier in the season. Morris scored a full 15 point maximum guesting previously for Glasgow on 7th August at Armadale in a league match.

They have also replaced their German rider Mario Hausl who had recently returned from injury by Monarchs Academy number 1 Vinnie Foord. Both of these changes appear to strengthen the Tigers who clearly intend to get a result on Friday.

Incredibly after five previous clashes between the teams this season, neither side has won at home! Monarchs have recorded two wins and a draw at Ashfield, while both previous Armadale matches between the sides have ended in draws!

Monarchs' team boss Alex Harkess wants his team to finish on a high. "Like all sports you're only as good as your last match! This is the one the public will take into the winter in their memory. So we want to do very, very well in it, that's what it's all about to try and finish on a high. Recent matches have been low key for us so Friday is an opportunity to finish on a high."
