There will be a familiar voice around Armadale Stadium this Friday as former Monarchs presenter Scott Wilson makes a special return to the microphone for our Scottish Cup decider against Glasgow Tigers.
Scott was the voice of Friday nights at Armadale for 22 seasons, taking up the centre green role when the Monarchs arrived at the stadium in 1997 and remaining behind the microphone until stepping down at the end of the 2018 season.
Now, eight years after calling time on his regular presenting duties, Scott will be back for a special one-night appearance as the Monarchs bring the curtain down on the 2026 season.
It promises to be quite a night for his return, with the Scottish Cup to be decided against Glasgow and the Monarchs taking a six-point advantage into the second leg following July's 48-42 victory at Ashfield.
Scott has never been far from the club since stepping down and has remained a familiar face at the annual Monarchs Burns Supper, but Friday will provide the opportunity to hear him back doing the job he made his own for more than two decades.
For those who spent so many Friday nights listening to Scott throughout his 22 years on the centre green, there should be a touch of nostalgia when that familiar voice comes over the PA once again.
And with the Scottish Cup on the line, it should give him plenty to shout about!
