This week’s Friday night speedway action at Armadale Stadium will see the Scotwaste Monarchs contest another National Final with Ipswich Witches the visitors in the deciding leg of the Knock Out Cup Final.

THE TEAMS FOR THE KNOCK OUT CUP FINAL AT ARMADALE ON FRIDAY 17TH OCTOBER (start time 7.30, doors open 6.30) are:

SCOTWASTE MONARCHS: Craig Cook, Justin Sedgmen, Max Fricke, Stevie Worrall, Sam Masters, Aaron Fox, Derek Sneddon (captain)

IPSWICH WITCHES: Rohan Tungate, Cameron Heeps, Morten Risager, Gino Manzares, Richie Worrall, Ritchie Hawkins (captain), Adam Ellis.

CAN WITCHES CAST A SPELL OVER MONARCHS: The first leg of the Knock Out Cup Final takes place at Ipswich on Thursday evening and both teams will have made the 440 mile trip north ready for the deciding leg in West Lothian. For a match taking place so late in the season it is unusual that both teams are lining up at full strength and both are using the same seven riders as they started the season with.

The Scotwaste Monarchs continue with their impressive recent unbeaten record but the Witches have also been in good form, securing third place in the league table and only just missing out on a place in the Premier league Play-offs against the Monarchs. The Monarchs drew in a league match at Ipswich earlier in the season and won fairly easily at home and will be hoping for a repeat to secure the Knock Out Cup.

Monarchs@ skipper Derek Sneddon said, “It’s been a long season for us but we’re at the business end of it now. After winning the League Cup last week the boys are all fired up to add another trophy to our collection this week.”

LAST MEETING: In a double meeting, the Scotwaste Monarchs stormed to a huge win over Newcastle in the Knock Out Cup semi-final and then secured the League Cup by defeating Peterborough.

NEXT WEEK: The action next week will be on Saturday 25th October, the Premier Play-Off deciding leg against Somerset Rebels with the winners being crowned Premier League Champions. The first leg will have taken place at Somerset twenty four hours earlier.
