The road to the 2025 WSRA National Development League championship runs through Armadale Stadium this Friday as one of the three teams present will be crowned champions this season - and Stellar Monarchs Academy have reinforced the team ahead of this massive showdown.

Stellar Monarchs Academy take on fellow title rivals Oxford Chargers followed by Leicester Lion Cubs in a double header this Friday 19th September with an earlier than normal start time of 7pm. Admission gates will open at the regular time of 6:30pm.

The opportunity to clinch the title remains within the hands of the Academy team - should they take all points remaining on offer (two wins on Friday including taking the aggregate point and an away win with aggregate point at Belle Vue) then they will be champions.

This will be a hard fought battle with a mighty 33 points or more victory required over the Chargers and a 21 points or more victory over the Lion Cubs needed to take the aggregate points.

Steller Monarchs Academy promoter John Campbell said, "The chance to win the league is still in our hands and I know manager Scott Wilson will have the team ready to fight for every point on a massive night on Friday.

"It's a double header which is sure to bring double the action. it is hard to imagine there has ever been an occasion at this stage of the season where three teams have been present that could all still win the league title.

"No matter what happens, it is sure to be pivotal in the title race. It's one not to be missed."

The only permutation that would see the champions crowned this Friday would be a victory for the Chargers followed by a defeat and loss of aggregate point for the Lion Cubs.

Luke Crang joins Stellar Monarchs Academy

Stellar Monarchs Academy's title charge has been reinforced by the addition of experienced campaigner Luke Crang to the side ahead of this Friday's title showdown.

Stellar Monarchs Academy manager Scott Wilson said, "It's great that we've been able to tempt Luke back into racing. He is a proven performer at this level and after sitting out most of the season, when I spoke to him it's clear he has got the hunger back and was keen to join us for the last few meetings of the season."

"We've covered for Matt with R/R mostly but with that facility having run out it was important that we filled his spot with someone we felt could contribute consistent points. I'm sure Luke will do just that."

Luke Crang, 34 years-old from Darlington, returns to the club following a short stint in the Monarchs line up in 2021 and has since enjoyed some success at NDL level, including winning the league with Leicester Lion Cubs last season. Luke replaces Matt Marson in the team following Matt stepping down from the side earlier this year.
