The Border Roofing Monarchs exceeded the expectations of their support with a focussed and determined performance which earned a highly satisfactory 55-34 advantage after the first leg of the League Cup Final against Glasgow Tigers.

A crowd well in to four figures with a feeling of expectation and tension in the air greeted this match, the first National Final between these teams for 21 years.

In front of a huge crowd the Border Roofing Monarchs defeated the Glasgow Tigers by 55 to 34 in the first leg of the League Cup Final at Armadale. Craig Cook scored a paid maximum and Aaron Summers had 10 for the Tigers.
